Optimization of energy consumption and polluting gases emission

Public transport is in itself an important measure to increase energy efficiency in the transport field as is more fuel efficient than many forms of private transportation.

Being aware of today's environmental problems, one of the main objectives of the Group is the optimization of the consumption of fuel in our vehicles, for this reason we have developed a project focused on fuel efficiency, analyzing the technical aspects that can help reduce consumption, as well as establishing the training needed to achieve safe and fuel efficient driving. Our target is to reduce fuel consumption by 2.5%, which will equate to some 4,000 tonnes of CO2 (principal greenhouse gas) being saved a year.

The Group policy is to purchase vehicles that meet the latest pollutant emission standards within the European Union. At present, much of our vehicle fleet meets the Euro V and EEV (Enhanced Environmentally friendly) standards thereby reducing emissions of exhaust hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen significantly.

In the field of alternative energies, Avanza Grupo has a long tradition and experience, including Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and electric vehicles. In addition, we are currently involved in piloting and research of alternative energy vehicles
